Your flowers are about to begin the next chapter of their journey.
To give them the very best chance of retaining their shape and colour, it's important they reach me as fresh as possible, ideally within 3 days of your wedding or special occasion.
Don't worry – packaging them is much simpler than it sounds.
Sending your flowers
Until you're ready to post your flowers, keep the stems in clean, fresh water and store them somewhere cool, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep your flowers in water until as close to posting as possible – there's no need to package them the night before.
Is your event on a Saturday?
Don't worry! Keep your flowers hydrated in clean water and somewhere cool throughout Sunday, then package and send your flowers on Monday morning using a next-day delivery service.
This is much better than packaging your flowers early and leaving them without water unnecessarily over the weekend.
Step 1: Keep them happy 🌿
When you're ready to package your flowers, remove them from the water.
Wrap the bottom of the stems in damp kitchen roll, then cover just the wrapped ends of the stems with cling film or a small plastic bag to help retain moisture during their journey.
The flower heads don't need wrapping – in fact, they'll be happier if they can breathe.
Step 2: Wrap the stems ✂️
Choose a sturdy cardboard box that's large enough for your bouquet without squashing or bending the flowers.
Carefully nestle your flowers inside and fill any empty space with tissue paper or packing paper so the bouquet can't move around too much during transit.
Your parcel may be moved or tilted during its journey, so make sure the flowers are well cushioned and secure rather than relying on the box remaining upright.
Once everything is safely inside, securely tape all edges and seams of the box.
Clearly mark the outside of your parcel:

Add the markings to the top and sides of the box so they're easy to see.
Step 3: Pack them up 📦

Pop a note inside the box with:
Your name
Your email address
Your wedding or event date
If you're sending buttonholes or any extra flowers, label them too so I know exactly where they belong.
I recommend sending your flowers using Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm.
It's fully tracked, includes a signature on delivery and is designed for valuable items, giving your flowers the best chance of arriving safely and quickly.
For the quickest journey, I recommend taking your parcel directly to a Post Office as early as possible on the day you're sending it.
If your event falls over a weekend, keep your flowers hydrated and cool until the next available posting day rather than packaging them early.
Step 5: Send them on their way 🚛
For weddings: Before the big day, consider nominating a trusted friend, bridesmaid or family member as your “bouquet person”. Simply send them this page in advance and they'll know how to care for, package and post your flowers after the celebrations – leaving you free to enjoy your first few days as newlyweds!
For other occasions: If someone else will be responsible for sending the flowers, simply share this page with them so they have all the information they need.
