These Terms & Conditions outline the booking process and what you can expect when commissioning a bespoke piece from The Flower Archive. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Terms & Conditions

Booking your commission

A non-refundable booking fee of £45 is required to secure your commission. This fee will be deducted from your final balance.

To achieve the best possible preservation, flowers should arrive with me within 3 days of your wedding or special occasion, unless we've agreed otherwise in advance.

Sending your flowers

Customers are responsible for packaging and posting their flowers to The Flower Archive.

Please follow the Packaging Guide on the website to give your flowers the best chance of arriving safely.

Whilst every effort is made to advise on safe packaging, The Flower Archive cannot accept responsibility for flowers that are delayed, lost or damaged during transit.

The preservation process

Every flower is unique and responds differently to the pressing process.

Although every care is taken to preserve your flowers as beautifully as possible, natural changes such as softening of colour, slight shrinkage and minor imperfections are all part of preserving real flowers and should be expected.

The final artwork will reflect the natural characteristics of your flowers.

Flowers that don't survive

In rare cases, individual flowers or foliage may not be suitable for preservation due to their condition or how they naturally respond to the pressing process. Where possible, I will use the best-preserved blooms to create your artwork.

What happens to any unused flowers?

Any flowers not used in your finished artwork are not normally returned. Wherever possible, leftover flowers and foliage are either composted or thoughtfully repurposed for practice, product photography or botanical studies, helping to minimise waste.

Each commission is individually designed using artistic judgement to create a balanced and timeless piece.

The Flower Archive does not provide digital proofs or revisions before framing, allowing each design to develop naturally around the flowers received.

Artwork design

The typical turnaround time is 6–8 weeks, although this may vary depending on drying times, flower varieties and seasonal demand.

If there are any significant delays, you'll be kept updated throughout the process.

Turnaround time

The remaining balance is due before your completed artwork is returned or collected.

Artwork will not be dispatched until full payment has been received.

Payment

Collection & delivery

Return delivery is included within the commission price unless otherwise stated.

Every completed artwork is carefully packaged and sent using a tracked delivery service.

Once your artwork has been dispatched, you'll receive confirmation that it's on its way.

If you decide to cancel your booking before I receive your flowers, please contact me as soon as possible. The £45 booking fee is non-refundable where it reflects costs and losses arising from your cancellation.

Once your flowers have been received, preparation and preservation may begin immediately due to their perishable nature. If you wish to cancel after work has begun, please contact me as soon as possible. You will be responsible for the reasonable cost of work already carried out and any costs or losses incurred as a result of the cancellation, less any costs I am able to avoid.

Once flowers have been dismantled or preservation has begun, they cannot be returned in their original condition. Please also note that unused flowers are not normally returned, as explained above.

Cancellations

Photography

The Flower Archive may photograph completed artwork for use on its website, social media and portfolio.

Wedding photographs supplied by customers will only ever be shared with permission, and photographer credit will be given wherever possible.

Caring for your artwork

A care guide will be provided with every completed piece.

To help preserve your artwork, it should be displayed away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity and extreme temperature changes.

If you have any questions about these Terms & Conditions, please get in touch. I'll always be happy to help.
